Well, here at M&P we're not sure where the British Summer is, but in saying this - dark clouds and silver linings and all that - trading has been better than we had expected for this time of the year, so we mustn't complain.
Since our last blog ran, demand has been quite buoyant across our seating products (normally held in stock) and those Armchairs we told you about last month have been flying out the door. New deliveries of seating stocks are imminent, so our warehouse will soon be brimming again with good stocks of all our lines. It's Business As Usual at M&P despite the Summer season.
Additionally, we have been seeing growing demand for our newer table, dresser and sideboard products (normally made to order). Apart from offering the "standard" table, dresser and sideboard products, we are also working with a small number of retailers and our suppliers to source and supply more "be-spoke" products to meet customers' specific / individual demands; and this seems to be working well. We have been confronted with some challenging designs and finishing requirements, but we and our guys seem to be coming-up with the goods at competitive prices. Straight and simple, with dark colours and contrast finishes seem to be the rage; and we are seeing several of the big players introduce "Black" (or close to) ranges of furniture and we are already being asked to emulate them.
Here at M&P we are still looking forward to the remaining part of this year, especially the start of the run-up to Christmas following the Summer season.
